It's beautiful weather here in Chester, so we'd thought we'd share some gorgeous houses with beautiful gardens from around the UK that would be perfect to sit in on a day like this!

Abbey House in Malmesbury, Wiltshire

Once part of the Benedictine Monastery, this 11-bedroom Tudor house is Grade I listed was founded around the end of the 7th Century.

To the front of the house is a level garden incorporating an upper lawn surrounded by herbaceous borders, and a knot garden in the shape of a Celtic cross (influenced by St Martin’s Cross on Iona).

Other features include a two hundred year old Mulberry tree, a Monks Head of yew, stepping stones across the river to the fernery and over 2,000 roses.

Brockdale Cottage, Warfield, Berkshire

The five-bedroom house sits on more than five acres which are both functional and attractive. The avenue of crab apple trees yield spring blossom, which are also bee-friendly, later producing crab apples for homemade jelly and to supplement the pigs' diet.

The formal walled kitchen garden features irrigated raised beds in pegged planters alongside a steel and glass hand-built greenhouse.
